Keeping Up With Clear Computing.

Clear Computing has enjoyed the past 18 months working with West Sussex County Council as Educational Consultants, with very positive results. This has benefitted many schools and colleges by raising the quality of IT for students, also creating business for local companies. How Secure is your data?

We have all probably heard of E-Security now but do we really understand what it is? Obviously there is a need to keep information on our computer systems about staff, clients, members etc. to do business. Did you know however you have a statutory requirement to notify the Information Commissioners Office who the Data Handler is within you organisation. (ICO – www.ico.gov.uk). Failure to notify is a criminal offence. The data controller within your organisation should be notifying the ICO about your processing of personal information. The purpose of this is transparency and openness, a basic principle of data protection. Failure to comply to the Data Protection Act and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations can result in a fine and is classed as a criminal offence. This is therefore something that your businesses really cannot ignore. However once that information is on your computer how do you know it is safe? How many people have access to your system within the office or remotely? What measures does your Business put in place? This could be as easy as ensuring password are protected to data encryption. This includes the use of Laptops, Mobile Phone, Memory sticks etc. The whole scenario is a mine field but with consultancy and advice from Clear Computing your E-Security will be compliant. Clear Computing recently was accredited with The ISO 27001, which deals with technical data management security system. Fewer than 500 businesses in the UK hold this accreditation. Not only can we help you find any possible issues in your E-Security but we can offer you the solution to correct them. Clear Computing...

Clear Computing is proud to be the IT sponsors of the Worthing Rugby Club

On February 16th there was a great night at the Worthing Rugby Club when Simon Shaw, Kenny Logan, Peter Scrivener and Will Green treated us to an evening of rugby anecdotes, enjoyed by our Business Manager Sheila Hall and our Quality Control Manager Geoff Goody. The curry was great too by Cuisine Catering. On March 5th Pink Ladies’Day was a great success with a fabulous marquee and meal by Rumshack. We had a table of 10 for our pink ladies who enjoyed the fashion show and auction ably compared by Nick. Butlers in the Buff served pink champagne and all proceeds went to cancer...

Clear Computing’s Activity With Local Schools

Over the past couple of months Sheila Hall has visited various schools to offer her business assistance: She was a panellist on The Dragon’s Den at the Connaught School, Littlehampton for very impressive 8-9year olds. Advice was offered at the Chichester High School at their Careers and Advanced Education Convention. Mentoring at the Durrington High School to aid pupils to set up a Music Shop was an enjoyable...

Clear Computing’s Community Events

The recent Wedding Fayre at Field Place was a productive day with free Lambrini flowing. Clear Computing donated a free wedding website for the winning couple in ‘Win a Wedding’ competition. Looking over St Barnabas with the Worthing Chamber of Commerce was most interesting and impressive. The meal which followed at Northbrook College was equally impressive. Lunch on the Bluebell Railway courtesy of Sussex Enterprise admirably filled an afternoon. The evening organised by the Arun Business Partners at the Fish Factory in Littlehampton was outstanding. Devilish Delights made the occasion with their Fantastic cakes. The Robin Hood, Shrimpney played host to the recent ABP meeting with Berkeley Homes, attended by local businesses who could tender for work. A great idea with good...
